The Campus Minister, a full-time exempt position, is responsible for promoting and nurturing the spiritual life of the students at Robert Morris University as well as the coordination and implementation of the day-to-day activities at the campus.
Minimum Qualifications: 
 

Education:	Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Campus Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
Experience:	Minimum of three years of ministry experience. Prior experience in ministry with an emphasis on relational ministry, discipleship, and evangelization.
Knowledge/Skills:	Viewpoint consistent with the Roman Catholic Church and the directives of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Proven competencies in the practice of campus ministry along with acute knowledge of the related foundational/vision documents and principles. Understanding of the concepts of the New Evangelization. Proven competencies in oral and written communication. Proficient in training, supervision, administration. Ability to facilitate effective meetings and group processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office and any/all applicable new technologies.
Routine Duties And Responsibilities:	Pastoral Presence and Student Accompaniment Provide a visible Catholic presence on campus and accompany students in their faith development.   Maintain a consistent and visible Catholic presence on campus. Advise, counsel, and accompany students in their faith development. Assist and accompany students participating in OCIA. Participate in new student orientations (Fall and Spring). Develop initiatives that lead students to a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ and growth in discipleship. Develop outreach initiatives that invite inactive or non-practicing Catholic students to reconnect with the life of the Church. Assist students in discerning their vocation in life, including marriage, priesthood, religious life, and dedicated lay service.   Liturgical and Sacramental Life  Coordinate the liturgical life of campus ministry and create opportunities for prayer and sacramental participation.  Coordinate and plan liturgies and prayer experiences with the assigned Chaplain. Supervise professional music ministry personnel and volunteer musicians. Collaborate with territorial and local parishes to promote parish liturgical services and sacramental life.   Faith Formation and Spiritual Growth  Develop opportunities that foster spiritual growth, Catholic formation, and deeper understanding of the faith. Coordinate catechetical programs such as Bible studies, morality classes, and other faith formation opportunities. Coordinate and facilitate small faith-sharing groups such as men’s groups, women’s groups, and book studies. Develop retreats and evenings of recollection for students. Promote leadership development that prepares students to witness to the faith within the campus community.   Community Life and Student Leadership  Foster Catholic fellowship on campus and encourage student leadership within campus ministry.  Monitor the Catholic student organization (e.g., Newman Club) and provide direction and leadership. Identify, mentor, and form student leaders who assist in planning and leading campus ministry initiatives. Provide social opportunities that build Catholic fellowship on campus. Organize service opportunities and educational workshops related to peace and justice Encourage student leadership and peer ministry within campus programs. Organize a yearly contingent to attend the SEEK Conference with the assistance of the Coordinator of Campus Ministry.   Communication and Campus Collaboration  Maintain strong communication with campus leadership, students, and diocesan partners.  Direct publicity for campus ministry programs and events, including social media. Maintain communication with college administration and serve as a resource on matters of the Catholic faith. Participate in interfaith councils such as the Ecumenical Campus Ministry Association (CMA). Maintain effective communication among student leaders and ministry teams.   Administration and Diocesan Collaboration  Ensure effective administration and coordination of campus ministry programs.  Maintain a database of Catholic students on campus. Prepare and monitor department budgets and manage related accounts including grant requisitions and reports. Meet regularly with diocesan and secretariat staff regarding program design, implementation, and evaluation. Network and collaborate with diocesan agencies and partners to develop policy, share resources, and plan initiatives.   Professional Development and Compliance  Maintain professional standards and ensure compliance with diocesan policies.  Participate in diocesan trainings and workshops as directed by the Coordinator of Campus Ministry. Ensure compliance with diocesan safe environment policies and training requirements in collaboration with the Secretariat for the Protection of Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults. Demonstrate commitment to prayer, continuing education, professional development, and excellence in ministry. Participate in appropriate local, regional, and national associations including the Catholic Campus Ministry Association.
