Varsity Soccer Coach Mission Statement The Central Catholic Promise: To inspire boys to become Men of Faith, Men of Scholarship, Men of Service. Varsity Soccer Coach Position Overview: The Varsity Soccer Coach will oversee the CCHS soccer program (Freshmen, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams). The Varsity Soccer Coach oversees and supervises the assistant coaches and athletes. The Varsity Soccer Coach coordinates all training, practices, and games while adhering to WPIAL, PIAA, and CCHS rules and regulations. Reports to: Director of Athletics-Internal Operations/ Director of Athletics-External Operations (works closely with Principal) Direct Reports:Assistant Coaches Status: Part-time, non-exempt position. Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees the entire soccer program including the Freshmen, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams.
Oversees the Assistant Coaches during training, practices, and games.
Coordinates supervision of athletes on buses and in the locker room.
Works closely with the Director of Athletics-Internal Operations and the Director of Athletics-External Operations to coordinate practice times and schedules.
Willingness to practice and play games off campus.
Willingness to be creative with practice plans and practice sites.
Coordinates try-outs to evaluate players’ skills for proper team placement.
Works with team’s booster group to coordinate fundraising events and identify the wants of the team.
Coordinates the execution and supervision of summer youth soccer camp if possible.
Adheres to WPIAL and PIAA rules and regulations.
Adheres to Central Catholic High School rules and regulations.
Works in conjunction with the Administration and the Office of Lasallian Mission and Ministry to promote, educate and instill our Lasallian charism throughout the program.
Promotes and fosters positive communication with the administration, teachers, coaches, players and families.
In addition to the specific roles and responsibilities noted in the position description, the Varsity Soccer Coach maybe asked to assist in other activities at the discretion of the Principal, the Director of Athletics-Internal Operations, and/or the Director of Athletics-External Operations. Position Requirements:
Experience as a soccer coach at high school or collegiate level.
Excellent communication skills with parents and students.
Ability to collaborate and coordinate with others.
Strong interpersonal communication with an ability to manage relationships with coaches, school administrators, parents, athletes, and the public.
Skilled at providing motivation and direction to assistant coaches and student athletes.
Must possess administrative, organizational, and financial skills in addition to a thorough knowledge of athletic policy and procedure.
According to both State and Diocesan requirements, all employees must file Criminal Record, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances with the school. In addition, new employees must complete the Mandated Reporting training and a Protecting God’s Children session.
