May 6, 2024Central Catholic High School, an all-boys college preparatory school in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Choir Director to lead our vibrant choral program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, a commitment to fostering musical excellence, and the ability to inspire and motivate high school students in their choral journey while upholding the Catholic LaSallian values of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging choral curriculum for grades 9-12.
- Conduct multiple sections of high school choir, focusing on vocal technique, music theory, and performance skills.
- Organize and direct performances, concerts, and other choral events throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with other music educators and school staff to promote a cohesive and supportive musical environment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Uphold and integrate Catholic LaSallian values into the choral program and classroom experience.
Qualifications:
- Valid PA state certification in music education.
- Functional piano skills with the ability to lead rehearsals.
- Previous high school choral teaching experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with liturgical music is an advantage.
- Commitment to upholding and integrating Catholic LaSallian values in the school community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
