Kearns Spirituality Center at Sisters of Divine Providence welcomes individuals, hosted groups, retreatants and day groups to a peaceful setting that is designed to nurture the body, mind and spirit. Located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Kearns provides a place apart where guests can find time to pray, reflect and rest. General Summary: The Hospitality Assistant supports the overall mission of the Kearns Spirituality Center by their very presence. This opportunity in ministry will enhance guests experience through simple kindness, and attention to individual needs. Opportunities for growth and development may be available based on organizational needs. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with Retreat Groups
Assure space for retreat groups/conferences is arranged to meet their needs and be available to assist with needed changes upon arrival.
Learn sound and projection system in Conference Center and assist groups/facilitators with system.
Be attentive and flexible to special needs of the group or individuals.
Provide assistance with issues that may arise.
Partner with staff to ensure smooth running of activities
Greet guests, share facility information and maintain a welcoming and clean environment.
Assure bedrooms are prepared for each guest.
Assist with set up, serving and cleanup of meals that will be provided.
Work with volunteers that may wish to help with activities such as gardening, watering plants, kitchen assistance.
UPMC Passavant Partnership
Greet overnight guests, provide compassionate and supportive listening and share facility information.
Maintain and track data and donations of overnight guests.
Help with other needs that come up with guests.
Assist with Data Information
Learn current tracking system and record data in system for various groups and Spiritual direction.
Help Hospitality Manager with reports as needed.
Qualifications:
Has strong collaborative skills and has the ability to work as a team member.
Possesses good interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates strong organization skills.
Possesses the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, with some weekends.
Has experience in planning and conferencing work.
Possesses adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office System.
Physical dexterity to perform the work, to lift mattresses and to shift furniture, up to 25 pounds.
