Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry
 
Applications are now being accepted for the position of Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the Secretariat for Formation of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.  This is a full-time, exempt position located at the Diocese of Pittsburgh Pastoral Center (2900 Noblestown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205).
The Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry position is responsible for a comprehensive and holistic approach to youth and young adult ministry that recognizes the cultural, developmental, and spiritual diversity among Catholic young people and their families.  The Director, as the agent of the Diocesan Bishop, is responsible for the implementation of the Diocesan programs, initiatives, policies, and procedures related to youth and young adult ministry.  
 
Qualifications for the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry position include: 
 

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, youth, and young adult ministry, pastoral ministry, or related field.  Master’s degree (or graduate work towards Master’s degree) preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of parish youth and young adult ministry experience.
• Significant knowledge of and experience working with youth and young adults.
• Teaching experience at various age levels and formats.
• Viewpoint consistent with the Roman Catholic Church and the directives of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
• Proven competencies in the practice of youth and young adult ministry along with acute knowledge of the related foundational/vision documents and principles.
• Proven competencies in oral and written communication.
• Proficient in training, supervision, administration.
• Ability to facilitate effective meetings and group processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and any/all applicable new technologies.
