Job Description: Full-time position to oversee middle school and high school religious education programs
Responsibilities: Collaborates with the director of faith formation of children and families through the following responsibilities: Program Supervision and Development
Animate the high school youth program
Coordinates Confirmation prep for grades 7 and 8: leads the curriculum, maintains paperwork, organizes parent meetings
Ensures that safe environment requirements, general safety and emergency response plans are implemented for all programs
Ensures that other diocesan policies and directives with regard to family and child formation are implemented for all programs
Develops an overall plan for vibrant programming under the guidance of the pastor and with the input of other faith formation staff members
Implementation of the faith formation vision and plan
Student health, safety and well-being during programming
Teacher and volunteer recruitment, scheduling, mentoring and supervision
Parent formation and family engagement
Interface with school for sacramental formation
Implementation of diocesan policy and directives
Facilitation of religious education for children with disabilities
Assist formation team with auxiliary student ministries, such as Vacation Bible Camp as well as with non-traditional catechetical models, specifically family catechesis
Program administration including annual registration, calendar, communications, effective use of technology, budget and purchasing
Collaboration with the pastor, staff and lay councils in fulfilment of the parish mission and pastoral plan
Building a culture of community among families and parishioners through interpersonal relations and activities
Qualifications Qualifications for the position include:
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
Strong knowledge of Church teaching and doctrine
Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Education, Theology
Experience with youth formation/education, catechesis, administration/management and event planning
Good knowledge of catechetical and educational methods
Computer proficiency
Strong administrative, communication, organizational and event coordination skills
Affable, welcoming and collaborative personality
Safe environment for children requirements including child abuse and criminal record clearance, FBI fingerprinting, mandated reporter training, pastoral code of conduct, child protective services law acknowledgement and protecting God’s children workshop
