Last week was a big week for the friendly faces behind Brother Andre's Cafe! During a pilgrimage to Rome, Mike and Terri Fitzgerald, who cofounded the cafe with Fr. Chris Donley, and their son Patrick, its first employee, met Pope Leo XIV!
Patrick presented the Pope with some of his "famous Snickerdoodles" and a bag of Brother Andre's Peru Blend Coffee. Father Joe Mele led the pilgrimage from Pittsburgh.
Brother Andre's Cafe aims to share the talents of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the world. Its employees work at two cafe locations in Pittsburgh: Epiphany Church (Divine Mercy Parish) and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church (Regina Coeli Parish).
