Summary of Job: The Pastoral Associate for Family and Young Adult Ministries is responsible for overseeing Archangel Gabriel Parish’s ministerial efforts directly relating to adolescents (middle schoolers and high schoolers) young adults (those in their 20s and 30s), and families (those with children under 18). Subsequently, the Pastoral Associate is responsible for designing, organizing, and implementing ministries that support the human and spiritual formation of adolescents, young adults, and families with young children of the parish as disciples of Jesus Christ and as valued members of our faith community. Working primarily with volunteer teams [self-identified and recruited] the Pastoral Associate is to provide opportunities for catechesis, retreats, missionary outreach, service, growth in social justice, and socialization. Youth ministry, young adult ministry, and young family ministry are integral parts of the parish’s effort to lead all to know, call them to, and support them in their next step in following Jesus. As such, the Pastoral Associate will be working to connect parents and families to the Church’s sacramental life and other parish ministries, aiming for total family discipleship and participation in the Church. Candidates: Archangel Gabriel Parish is seeking interested candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in religious education, catechetics, theology, evangelization or a related degree. Three years’ experience in a parish-based or other organizational youth program, along with experience in supervising and developing volunteers and two years’ experience in catechizing or teaching is preferred. Experience with evangelization and disciple-making is essential.
