Bishop Mark A. Eckman, Bishop of Pittsburgh, is making the announcement of the following clergy appointments: 

ADMINISTRATOR (PRO-TEM)

The Reverend Kevin J. Dominik has been appointed Administrator Pro-Tem of Divine Mercy Parish, City Center, effective May 26, 2026. Father Dominik maintains his responsibilities as Director of the Vocations Office and Director of the Propaedeutic Program.

PARISH CHAPLAIN

The Reverend David W. Green from Medical Leave of Absence to Parish Chaplain at Saint John XXIII Parish, Finleyville/Jefferson Hills/Peters, effective July 13, 2026.

CHAPLAINS

At the presentation of the Very Reverend Robert Marva, OFM Cap, The Reverend Gregory Chervenak, OFM Cap is appointed Chaplain at Butler Memorial Hospital with residence at Saint Mary Friary effective August 1, 2026.

At the presentation of the Right Reverend Martin R. Bartel, OSB, Archabbot of Saint Vincent Archabbey, The Reverend James Loew, OSB, is appointed Chaplain to the Catholic patients, staff, and volunteers at Forbes Regional and UPMC East Hospitals, Monroeville with residence at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, Monroeville/Penn Hills, effective July 22, 2026.  

The Reverend Alec P. Scheuer is appointed Chaplain (Part-time) to the faculty and students at Washington and Jefferson College, Washington, effective July 13, 2026. Father Scheuer maintains his responsibilities as Parochial Vicar at Saint James Parish and Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Washington.

RELEASED FROM ASSIGNMENT – RELIGIOUS 

At the presentation of the Very Reverend Robert Marva, OFM Cap, The Reverend Philip White, OFM Cap is relieved of his diocesan assignment as Chaplain at Butler Memorial Hospital effective June 4, 2026.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Deacon J. Jay Anderson has been relieved of his responsibilities in Ministry of Word and Sacrament and in Ministry of Service and Charity at Saint Aidan Parish, Wexford, effective immediately. Deacon Anderson has been granted a leave of absence for health reasons through December 31, 2026.
 
Deacon Richard Ernst has been relieved of his responsibilities in Ministry of Word and Sacrament and in Ministry of Service and Charity at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Beaver/Freedom/New Brighton/Rochester, effective immediately. Deacon Ernst has been granted a leave of absence for health reasons through December 31, 2026.
