Students in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at Saints Peter and Paul School in Beaver, PA will participate in online learning this week.  The school was notified that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. 

Students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades at Butler Catholic School in Butler will participate in online learning from now through Friday, January 22, 2021.  The move to remote learning is necessary due to staffing concerns resulting from close contact with someone associated with the school and who tested positive for COVID-19.

The 8th grade boys developmental basketball team at Saint Louise de Marillac Catholic School (Upper St. Clair, PA) has moved to virtual learning as a precaution after an individual associated with the team tested positive for COVID-19

The junior varsity and varsity girls’ basketball teams at two high schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh will move to remote learning due to positive cases of COVID-19 from individuals associated with the teams. The situations at the schools are separate, unrelated, and not linked to any school-sponsored activities.

Saint Athanasius Church and Rectory (West View) will reopen on Monday, December 21st with the 8:30 am Mass after being closed since December 8, 2020, due to COVID-19 concerns linked to two positive test results.

I am thrilled for the faithful for the Diocese of Greensburg that Pope Francis has appointed one of their own clergy, Bishop-elect Larry Kulick, as the sixth Bishop of Greensburg.

Administrators at Bishop Canevin High School (Pittsburgh) have learned that two people associated with the school have tested positive for COVID-19. All Bishop Canevin students will move to remote learning effective immediately until their Christmas break which begins after school on Friday, December 18, 2020. 

Administrators at Saint Therese of Lisieux School (Munhall) learned today that a person involved with the first grade class has tested positive for COVID-19.  Out of an abundance of caution, first grade students will begin remote learning effective immediately and continue virtually until Friday, December 18, 2020 when their Christmas break begins

Out of an abundance of caution, all students at Butler Catholic and Saint Wendelin schools (Butler, PA) are adding remote learning days around the Christmas break.

The kindergarten class at Saint Bede Catholic School (Point Breeze, PA) will move to remote learning effective Thursday, December 10, 2020 until Friday, December 18, 2020, which begins the school’s Christmas break.  This action comes after administrators learned today that a person involved with the class tested positive for COVID-19.

The Kenneth Feinberg Group has completed its administration of the Diocese of Pittsburgh Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program.  Since the opening of the fund in 2019, the fund administrators have awarded more than $19 million to victims/survivors in 224 cases that occurred over many decades, with the vast majority prior to 1990.

Following careful review of circumstances relevant to COVID exposure, Serra Catholic High School (McKeesport, PA) will be open for in-person instruction December 2, 2020.  However, all athletics and extracurricular activities are temporarily suspended.

Administrators at Saint Therese of Lisieux School (Munhall) were notified of one positive COVID-19 test result over the Thanksgiving break resulting from exposure unrelated to school.  Two other staff members reported possible COVID-19 exposures.  Due to those situations and staffing issues, the school will move to remote learning effective immediately.   

Out of an abundance of caution, all in-person Masses at the churches of St. Joseph the Worker parish are temporarily suspended, due to a member of the clergy team testing positive for COVID-19.

Administrators at Archangel Gabriel School (McKees Rocks/Robinson) were notified that three members of the school community have tested positive for COVID-19 over the Thanksgiving break resulting from exposure unrelated to school.

Divine Mercy Academy (Monroeville, PA ) will transition to remote learning effective November 24, 2020.  This action comes after administrators learned that three individuals associated with the Divine Mercy Academy school community have tested positive for COVID-19.

The kindergarten class at Saint Gregory Catholic School (Zelienople, PA) will move to remote learning and two additional individuals were quarantined effective November 24, 2020.  This action comes after administrators learned today that two people associated with the school community have tested positive for COVID-19.

The varsity hockey team at North Catholic High School (Cranberry Township, PA) will move to remote learning due to a report of a positive case of COVID-19 from an individual associated with the team.
