Beau Quattrone’s love for learning began in a Catholic school, where he later taught his three children. Today he shares that passion with his daughter Anna, who is following in his footsteps as she helps to promote Catholic education.

A team from Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh is working with focus groups of parents and teachers, as well as with diocesan officials, to create a responsible COVID-19 reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Diocese of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce a new name for a new elementary school resulting from the merger of St. Anne, St. Bernard, Our Lady of Grace, and St. Thomas More schools in the South Hills.  The school will be named Ave Maria Academy. The merger will take effect on July 1, 2020.

Bishop David Zubik has accepted a formal recommendation by the Catholic High Schools of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Inc. (CHSDOP) Board of Directors to close Quigley High School effective at the end of the current school year.

The principal of Northside Catholic Assumption Academy in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood is joining students and parents in expressing thanks during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8).

Teaming up with a group from Holy Sepulcher Parish in Glade Mills, Maddy has been helping sew cloth coverings for patients at Butler Memorial Hospital and residents at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where her aunt works.

Kathy Dudley had no idea when she started the Garden Club at Butler Catholic School that it would become such an important activity for families spending extensive time together at home during the pandemic.

The Pre-K–8 education programs at North American Martyrs School and Saint Bernadette School, both in Monroeville, and the Pre-K–8 education programs at Assumption School in Bellevue and Northside Catholic School in Brighton Heights will merge effective for the 2018-2019 school year. The Pre-K–8 education program at Saint Rosalia Academy in Greenfield will close at the end of this school year.
